Diwali Cakes in Tenkasi: Eggless Options and When to Order

Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November. Every cake we bake can be made eggless on request, which matters more at Diwali than at any other time - plus what to order to give, and why the week before books out.

Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026. If you are thinking about a cake for the festival - for the family, for guests, or to give - the useful thing to know is that the week before Diwali is the single busiest stretch in our year, and it is the one time when ordering late genuinely means going without.

Every Diwali cake can be eggless

This is the part worth reading even if you read nothing else. A great many households here avoid egg during the festival, and the usual experience of ordering a cake at Diwali is being offered two or three eggless flavours out of a much longer menu.

That is not how we work. Every cake we bake can be made eggless on request - the whole menu, not a shortlist. Black Forest at ₹299, Red Velvet at ₹499, the Choco Truffle at ₹599, a photo cake, a tiered cake for a large gathering. Say "eggless" when you place the order and that is the whole process. There is more detail in our guide to eggless cakes in Tenkasi.

If your household keeps egg out of the kitchen entirely during the festival, mention that too rather than only asking for an eggless cake - it tells us more about what you need.

Cake alongside sweets, not instead of them

Nobody is replacing Diwali sweets, and we would not suggest it. What a cake does well is give the evening a moment - something to cut, with everyone round the table, that the children look forward to in a different way from a box of sweets.

That shapes what to order. After a day of eating, a rich cake gets admired and left. The cakes that actually get finished on Diwali night are the lighter ones: White Forest (₹299) and Blackcurrant (₹399) both cut clean and sit well after a heavy meal. If the children are the main audience, a Chocolate cake (₹399) is the safer bet.

Cake as a Diwali gift

If the cake is going to another household, the question changes from flavour to whether it survives the journey and arrives looking like a present.

A fudgy brownie slab (₹499 for 0.5 kg) is the most practical thing we make for giving. It travels without smudging, needs no refrigeration for the handover, cuts into neat squares at the other end, and does not oblige the receiving household to find space in a full fridge on the busiest night of the year - which a cream cake absolutely does.

For something that looks more like an occasion, a photo cake (₹499) with a family photograph lands better than a generic box. Those need a day's notice, and in Diwali week, more.

Order early. We mean this one.

We bake to order in small batches, which is what keeps the sponge soft on the day it reaches you. It also means there is a hard limit on how many cakes can leave the kitchen on any one day, and in the three or four days before Diwali that limit is reached.

  • Standard flavoured cakes - same-day is often fine in an ordinary week. In Diwali week, do not count on it.
  • Photo, themed and custom cakes - at least a day normally, and more in the run-up.
  • Tier cakes and large orders - book now rather than in November.

Message us on WhatsApp with your date, whether you need it eggless, roughly how many people, and where it is going. Earlier is genuinely better this month, and the cakes we have to turn away are almost always the ones asked for the day before.
